Located in the heart of the Loire Valley, one hour by TGV from Paris, the Bourdaisière area is worth a detour. Let's start with a word about the chateau - neighboring to those of Amboise, Chenonceau and Villandry -, made famous for having sheltered many royal loves. This renaissance castle is part of a 55 hectare enclosed park in which large trees with remarkable species grow: redwoods, cypress of Lambert ... For a few years, the domain has been reinvented by its new owner, Louis Albert de Broglie. This "gardener prince" gave birth to a tomato conservatory with 650 varieties, a dahlias garden with more than 200 varieties, as well as a collection of medicinal plants and an orchard. This plant has been designed as a "school of nature and the art of living" in French where everything is a pretext to discover, observe, understand and marvel.

La Bourdaisière Here you can taste! The vegetable garden is at the same time a conservatory, a gourmet place and an educational center. The 650 varieties of tomatoes and 150 varieties of vegetables are cultivated in a healthy and natural way by gardeners who, if you come across them, will be generous in advice and tips. La Bourdaisière From the vegetable patch… to the plate! From May to the end of October, gourmets can sit at the "Tomato Bar" which gets their supplies directly from the estate's vegetable patch and from producers in the region. An overview of the flavors on offer: shortbread and tomato sorbets, tomato and fresh fruit juice from the garden, herbal teas, salads, soups and plates of fresh produce typical of the region.
